Ok, so the scoop on Sophia's new school and how we found out about it....if you're wondering I about about to share the story!
It all started on Saturday, July 7th. We were at Liz and Jon's for their party. So after the dust settled and they cut the cake to reveal they were having a boy! We were in the kitchen talking about Sophia and who is watching her during the week while Mommy is at work and Daddy is at school. I was chatting with Ali Bryant, one of Liz's friends and she said, "I work at a dayschool.! It's called Covenant Classical and it is located right outside gate 9 of Redstone!" I said, "What! How do we sign Sophia up?" Then she went on to tell me that I should call the school and she asked me if Sophia knew blends... I said what? She said they teach 3 years how to read! I just about fell in the floor. I mean, we have the, my baby can read stuff that I bought at a yardsale for 7 dollars but everything is packed in the PODS....
So, fast forward to Sunday, I googled the school - found it and did some reading - only to find out it is one of the best schools in our area.
Now it's Monday, I called the school and Pastor Chris answered the phone. He said, "well this is interesting, Ali is standing in front of me right now telling me about Sophia!" So, we set up a time to visit the school THAT day! Mike and Sophia met me there at 10:30! We toured and talked and saw the swimming pools!!!! They teach swimming lessons - well, Sophia was all about this school, especially after she saw the pools. LOL!
So, I asked Pastor Chris, "When can Sophia start?" He said, "Tomorrow!" Holy cow! She started school on Tuesday, July 10th :) She is in Miss Brittnee's class - another friend of Liz's :)
Ok, back to the swimming pool - It's for the advanced 3 year olds -5 year olds. Not the class Sophia is currently in.... She has to do a little catching up with the blends before she can advance to the next class.
So on Wednesday, Miss Brittnee did a little testing of Sophia's skills and she knows her shapes, numbers, colors and letters. She just doesn't know the sounds of the letters and that's part of blending words. Which we figured that was where she is. We've never taught her the blending thing.
I asked Miss Brittnee what we could do to help with the blending but I don't want to over do it with the words when she gets home. I want her to play, she is after all, 3!
Miss Brittnee recommended that I go over the series ( we bought some flash cards - beka curriculum; they aren't here yet) for about 2 minutes before Sophia gets out of bathtub and that's it! To be continued.....

It is time for a Sophia update!
Wow it's been a long time since I've blogged :( So sorry about that! Now that we are living in Alabama we have the opportunity for family and friends (The one's that can) to experience our offspring in person..... This is a great thing and I say that because she is building a personality of her own! She might act in certain ways that people think she should or shouldn't... that's the beauty of testing the limits.... which tells me, she is three. She is healthy and she is growing! So that means we are doing just fine. :)
Soph spends her days with Daddy mostly, she gets to go to Aunt Mavis's house on Monday's while daddy is at school and then she goes to park or swimming at Papa's on Wednesday afternoons. The rest of the time, she is spending with Daddy and then once Mommy and Manu get home, we are all one big happy family :)
We are still trying to sell our house in St. Mary's. We have faith it will sell and we hope it sells to some great people so Mike and Tracy will have good neighbors. We also want to go visit MyMy and TT and that will be our first trip back to St. Mary's; that of course, is when the house sells and we have to go and sign paperwork.
We miss MyMy and TT and think about them all the time. Sophia says their names atleast once a day :) HER MyMy and TT :)
Another cute thing the munchie said was, "Mommy, Kolbi is my brother." She loves Kolbi Haggard and thinks he is her brother! ha! They play together, fight together and act like siblings so I can see how she would say that!
Well everyone! I hope this message finds you all well and I will do my best to write atleast once a month, if not more!!!!
