YES, Doctor Eva said,"We are indeed pregnant!"

First Doctor visit was positive!! We got all the blood test results back and everything is looking good.
The picture of my belly was this morning, we think i am 4 wks ? days but we aren't sure. So hopefully next Tuesday, April 1st we will hear Baby-D's heartbeat. I will post another entry that day, with the picture of Baby-D and my belly.

We had our first ultrasound and Doc said that little baby Dempsey might be younger than we think. So much for the special cardboard tool that the nurse used. Ha Ha!! Oh well.....

We have another appointment set for next Tuesday, April 1st.

Well, I had something a little funny/weird happen today. Let me explain; I had just gotten home from work and I was getting ready to take KJ for our daily jog. So, I walk outside and there's Mike & Tracy Martin. Ok, nothing unusual with that! Until, Mike walks over to me, puts his hand on my belly and says," it's going to be a boy!" Then he said," Oh, it is going to be twin boys and you will have them via a C-section!" (HOLY SHIT, ARE YOU FOR REAL) Well, that goes right along with Mom's little "feeling" just perfectly!!

The more I think about having twins, the more I really like the idea! I mean, I love being a twin and wouldn't change it for the world. :) So, lets see what GOD has in store for us!!!
BTW- I am STARVING!!!!!!! I haven't had any sickness but I have been eating like a wild woman!!!

weeks 5 & 6 - baby and mommy

Week 5

Baby: Your embryo still hasn't grown much. It's about 0.05 inches long. Heart, brain, spinal cord, muscle and bones are beginning to develop. The placenta, which will nourish your baby, and the amniotic sac, which provides a warm and safe environment where the baby can move easily, are still forming, too.

Mom-to-be: Still no big changes to notice in yourself, although you might suspect by now that you're pregnant. Some early pregnancy symptoms include nausea (called "morning sickness," although it can happen at any time of day), a tingling or soreness in your breasts and darkening of the areola, the need to urinate more frequently and feeling more tired than usual.
Tip for the Week: You'll want to schedule a visit to your OB-Gyn as soon as you suspect you're pregnant. Good prenatal care is one of the best assurances of a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.

Week 6
Baby: The embryo is starting to look like a tadpole. It's about 0.08 inches to 0.16 inches -- the size of a BB pellet -- from the top of the head to buttocks. (This crown-to-rump length is used more often than crown-to-heel length because the baby's legs are most often bent and hard to measure). The eyes and limb buds also are forming. A heartbeat can sometimes be detected by an ultrasound around now. This is also an extremely important time in the development of your baby, since between 17 and 56 days the embryo is most susceptible to factors that can interfere with its normal growth.

Mom-to-be: You may have gained a few pounds by now, but if you're experiencing morning sickness you may have lost weight, which is also normal. You're starting to notice some changes in your body: clothes getting a little tighter around the waist, weight gain in your legs and breasts. With a pelvic exam, your practitioner will be able to notice a change in the size of your uterus.

Tip for the Week: Make sure you're following good prenatal habits, like eating right and taking your prenatal vitamins. Since the neural tube (which is the beginning of the central nervous system) has formed by now, taking folic acid to prevent spinal cord defects such as spina bifida, has been crucial. If you haven't already, stop smoking and drinking.

Is this stick for real!!

24 March 2008- First baby blog :)
Ok-
Here's how it all went down!! Let me start from the beginning.....

It was a crisp Tuesday morning, March 18th to be exact!!! When I woke up I noticed that something just wasn't quite right... Had I forgotten something, had I misplaced something? What in the world was wrong! I am planning a wedding after all, so my memory is completely GONE.

Well, I will tell you, I had missed something:) Yes, I had missed something alright and it wasn't my favorite tv show either! I needed to know why I had missed this monthly habit. So, to make a long story even longer, I took 5 pregnancy tests, holy crap, right!

Only to have the inevitable confirmed to myself 5 times that I am indeed with child. ha ha! As my sister Nicole puts it, I now have a bun in the oven :)

Ok, moving along to the next step- going to the doctor. Mike and I went to the doctors office on March 20, 2008, for blood work and more freaking urine samples. But the crazy thing is, they never tried to confirm that I was pregnant. They just took it for granted since the home pregnancy tests said I was.... We were in that damn office for 2 hours and not once did the nurse say, we are 100% sure you are pregnant. Although, I am sure they will tell me at my next visit :)

Although, the nurse did say that we are 5 weeks preggo (smile), if her little card board special tool spin wheel is accurate (WTF)!

Now, we have another doctors appointment on March 25, 2008. I promise I will write a short story on Tuesday after the doctors appointment and I will copy Evyn's idea and post pictures of our growing bun :)
