37 weeks 0 days....

Mom took my pics today. She did a good job :)

It's really hard for me to believe that I have had our baby in my stomach for 37 weeks, ha ha! I mean, I know there's a baby in there - I feel her kick and I have steadily watched my belly grow(aka weight gain) but other than those two things and a few minor other things.... I've pretty much "felt" normal this entire pregnancy :) I promise I'm not complaining about that!! I'm just really starting to wonder when she is going to feel like showing the world her face!

As of today, I am considered FULL TERM and she can come at anytime!!!! I was talking to my hubby about it last night and he informed me that he had a little talk with Sophia and they have this thing figured out. Yea, he explained to her that it's all about timing now. So Daddy could meet her upon her arrival ;-)
Well, Mike "MIGHT" be home the week of November 8th-16 for training but it's still kind of up in the air..... We are pretty sure that he wont be here for Thanksgiving - unless "baby leave" falls at that time.....He might be able to get into another training class in December sometime and then he might be off for Christmas on December 30th-January 4th. Those are all maybe's because that schedule shifts more than possibly imaginable...

Ok, enough of the ramblings that constantly go through my mind. Here's some facts that the doctor gave us yesterday.
1.) Baby has a healthy heart rate!
2.) Stomach is still measuring right on target!
3.) My vitals are all good!
4.) Strep-B culture came back negative!
5.) I have lost 1 pound (don't ask me how, I have eaten the same way throughout the entire pregnancy)

The RN- Marlene also thinks that her head might be getting "ready" to engage...She is in the head down position, so it's just a matter of time.

In the interim..... Mom and I have a Lia Sophia (http://www.liasophia.com/) party scheduled for Sunday. We have been walking the dogs every day and they are loving that! We went to babies-r-us last weekend and we will go again this weekend (There's a new one opening and we have to check it out).

Oh- This is just cool! I have a watermelon growing!!!! Not just the one in my stomach but an actual real life watermelon!!! It's in the back yard behind the fence! Actually there are two back there but one is SUPER tiny!!! I hope they can make it through this little cold spell we are having, because that would really be awesome to eat that watermelon!!

Let me tell you what happened.... during the beginning stages of pregnancy I ate a cubic butt-ton of watermelon, I love the stuff and when I was done with the watermelon, I threw the rine over the fence, right! Well, we did that and we did that continuously for a couple of months... then a couple of weeks ago I noticed this vine growing through the fence into the backyard and I thought to myself, "that really looks like a watermelon vine!" It was!!!!! Then my neighbor took a little stroll back there through the vine and saw the watermelon! We both just about fell out!! She's been trying to grow watermelons for about a year and she hasn't had very good luck.

So we have been monitoring the melon pretty close and we need it to get a little bit bigger before we can snag it for a snack! So, that's a short synopsis of how we were able to create watermelons :)

36 weeks 0 days:)

Here we are with Sophia's new gear!!! My Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law bought Sophia's stroller and car seat! They coordinate with the jogging stroller!! :) We tried out the jogging stroller with Katy :) She loved it!

I had to smile in the pictures because Mike gave me crap about not looking happy in the pictures. I tried to tell him these are suppose to be belly shots and not pictures of my face!

Well we made it another week and we are still trucking right along.

Sophia and I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Everything went well, she was just as active as ever, moving around and my belly measured right on target. All my tests came back good. Then the midwife checked me for any signs of effacement and dilation and my cervix is closed up tighter than a drum. So maybe next week we will have some progress. If not then we will just keep taking it one day at a time ;-) My next doctor appointment is next tuesday and we will see what happens then! According to Grandma Tersigni, I have 1 more full moon!!

Mike reports to the boat on Friday, so it's up to me and Sophia to "inform" daddy as SOON as we can when his daughter decides to arrive!!! In the mean time, my mom is here and she brought her jewelry that she's selling. It's the lia Sophia jewelry :) We will stay busy, we've already booked mom's first party down here. :) LOL!

35 weeks 0 days

This is my awesome jogging stroller that Natalie got us ;-) I can't wait to take Sophia for a jog!

Well, what do you know! We've made it 35 weeks and 9 Full Moons :) According to my mom, we have to make it through 10 full moons and we will have a baby!!! She was given that information from my Grandma Tersigni - which Grandma had 13 kids so she might have known a thing or two about the full moon process :) Plus, Grandma had all of her kids at home WITH the exception of 3. The last three were born in a hospital. I respect my Grandma for being pregnant more than 13 times ( she had 1 or 2 babies that didn't make it)!!! She lived most of her life pregnant ;-)
Ok, enough of the reminiscing.... yesterday we had a doctor's appointment and all went well, we are going to the doctor weekly now. I also found out that next week at our 36 week appointment the midwife, RN or doctor which ever examines me, will start checking for dilation!!! She is also going to do a culture for Strep-B, routine procedure. They just want to make sure there isn't any bacteria in the birth canal that will affect Sophia.
So this week was pretty much routine, we listened to Sophia's heartbeat and she is just trucking right along, punching and kicking mommy all day long :) I think she's starting to get a little cramped in there because I have been feeling (what I think are arms and legs) movement down by my hips and up in my lungs... well maybe not in my lungs but sometimes it sure does feel like it!!
My blood pressure was good, the urine test was normal and I've gained a total of 52 pounds so far ;-)

We are getting so close now, it's just a waiting game. We have some stuff for Sophia on order and we should start getting shipments in the mail pretty regularly until she gets here ;-) That definitely gives me something to look forward too!!!

Well, a little update on my hubby - he's almost done with the master bathroom. He pulled up the linoleum and painted! He also finished tiling the floor last night! All he has left is the grouting then replace the toe board.
It's amazing how those changes have REALLY changed the appearance of that bathroom! He has really reached a goal here with the completion of this bathroom not to mention he has done all of this work by his self. If nothing else, he has proven to his self that he can do whatever he sets his mind too! I'm very proud of him and how hard he has worked :) He is not only finishing up the master bathroom but he did the same work in the spare bathroom. He's learned so much about floors, toilets and remodeling. Plus the work he has done looks professional!!!!! All of this work on his vacation, WHAT A MAN ;-)
As far as work goes for him, we are still in a holding pattern. He checks in on Monday; I will post more about this next week when we have more information. But in the mean time we are just enjoying each others company ;-)

34 weeks 0 days...

Well this past weekend we CLEANED the house from top to bottom and Mike worked in Sophia's room - hanging pictures and shelves... how exciting! Now her room is just about done!! We still have a few things to get and we need to get a rocking chair (it'll go by the window) but other than that, we are pretty much ready for baby! :)

OMG - last week we went to Alabama for Kraig's wedding and Sophia's showers.... it was such a rewarding experience! Our little Sophia received so many sweet gifts that it was absolutely unbelievable! I mean she was given so many outfits, we had to wash clothes for an entire week!!!! She has enough outfits, hats, shoes and blankets for about 4 Sophia's!!!!!! :) Our family is truly blessed and thankful to everyone that loves us!

No your eyes are not playing tricks on you, that stack is completely compiled of BIBS!!!! I can't believe all the blankets, hats, washclothes and onsies that Sophia got!!!! It's incredible :)

I can't believe I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant!! Our baby will be here soooo soon!!!! Sorry for missing my past 2 posts, we were on vacation and last week it took all my energy to make it to work and get home. I was a little bit EXHAUSTED! So was KJ, he slept just as much as I did! ha ha!

Mike is on vacation right now, so he's been busting his butt getting stuff done around the house....we wont find out what his orders are for a couple more weeks.... but my mom will be here if he has to leave. So we should be covered in that area..... hopefully; he might not have to leave and they will let him start training here.... we shall see!

Well - Sophia and I had a doctor appointment last week - everything is looking good! My tummy has grown and measures right where it should be... Oh this was funny! For some reason, Sophia hates the Doppler that the nurses use to hear her heartbeat! I mean she runs from it! She does this every time we go in for our Regular OB appointment! Well this time was just like all the other times and our little "cooperative" child was wiggling and moving as far away as she could from the nurse. So the nurse had to push down on my stomach to keep her in one place, so she couldn't wiggle loose and get away from the Doppler :) I think she's already stubborn like her daddy...:) ha ha!

Oh - the braxton hicks contractions are starting to be a little more regular now... nothing to worry about but I can tell that they are coming and going a little more frequently...

Sophia gets the hiccups every day now:) It helps me figure out where her head is located! ha ha!

We are headed back to the doctor for our next appointment on October 14th. I will update our progress then.....
