40 weeks and 5 days
Went to the doctor today and we have an induction date set for Monday, December 1, 2008. I also found out that I am not alone with an "over due" baby. Come to find out there are 7 other women at my doctor's office that are post due.
If anything happens between then and now, we will post another update.

40 weeks and 2 days...
Yesterday we had quite an exciting day! Where do I begin.... first things first! Sophia is still living in my stomach and according to the midwife she is one step closer to birth. Her head is engaged but that's just about it. My cervix has not dilated ANY!!!
So at the doctor visit yesterday, they performed a NST (Non-evasive stress test) and we had an ultrasound done to check my fluid levels. Well everything is looking good! Sophia is not stressed and she has plenty of fluid... BUT remember... there isn't much room in there anymore!!!
They also told us that we will not go much past 41 weeks. So we are scheduled for another doctor appointment Monday at 10:00. I hope I don't make that appointment... I hope I'm holding her in my arms by that point and not in my stomach anymore ;-) But now that Mike is home!!!!!! I don't want to rush things and end up having a C-Section.
So, Wednesday I get a call from Mike and he tells me that he is packing his bag and headed to the house!!!! I just about freaked out! He was able to get off work until the end of December.... so the BIG QUESTION of him being here or not being has been answered by GOD!
GOD is taking care of us and he made sure that Mike will be here for his daughters birth, I'm still in shock and disbelief! It's truly a miracle how that worked out!!!!!
Oh... one other minor detail in the grand scheme of things here.... I weigh 180 pounds!!!!! I can't believe I weigh that much! Well, until I look at myself in the mirror and then I know I weigh that much!

40 weeks and 0 days!!!!!!!
I am headed to the doctor tomorrow, they are going to run some tests to make sure Sophia is not under any stress and I am going to try my best to persuade them to induce me on Monday the 24th. I'm not sure how much pull I have but I'm still going to try....
It would really work out sweetly if they induce on Monday because Mike could travel home this weekend and the whole question about him being here or not being here will be answered.
Plus, we have my older sister getting here for Thanksgiving this weekend and possibly my sister-in-law coming in this weekend.... so it would be really nice if they could meet their niece!!!
I will write more when I know more!

38 weeks 0 days.....
1.) Sophia is doing good, strong heart beat and continues to kick mommy :)
2.) Her head is engaged but no dilation or effacement to report. My cervix is still closed up!
3.) I'm still trucking right along with a good blood pressure and everything is still pretty much the same as far as the rest of my body goes.....
4.) I did gain 4 pounds; I weigh 178 (holy shit balls!) ha!
I asked the midwife about inducing and when it could happen. She informed me that they would not induce my labor until I reach the following requirements:
1.) I have to be 39 weeks along in the pregnancy and
2.) the cervix has to show some signs of change.
She said if I don't meet those requirements then they will not induce when the cervix is not showing any signs of "change" because it increases the changes of having a C-section and there isn't any reason for me to have one.
I explained to her that my husband is away and he will have to drive 8 1/2 hours to get home for the birth and if we could induce on my due date we would really like to shoot for that. She said, we will see what's happening next week with my cervix when I go back for my 39 week appointment, if it's showing some signs of change then we can talk about the induction. Other than that, all I can do is hang in there and keep doing what I'm doing because Sophia is healthy and that's our primary concern.
