So for all you Princess Sophia-lovers, here's a recap of 2010!

Sophia - January -2010

January 2010 -
Here's a little recap - Daddy was out to sea for the New Year celebration... so, Sophia, KJ and Mommy chilled with the Martin's :) Then on New Years Day - Sophia and Mommy went to Aunt B's for our greens :) YUMMY! So January was the typical - daddy coming and going; teeth coming in, Mommy working and T-T & My-My taking caring of the munchkin while Mommy was at work... :) PHEW - onto February!!

February 2010 -
This was an eventful month! Daddy was still coming and going; We had a visit from Pa-Pa and ToTo! They installed our new floors!! Daddy was here long enough to buy the tools for Pa-Pa (which Pa-Pa was very thankful for; he said, "Dempsey is never here for the work but he sure can pick out good tools!" :) The floors pretty much took up most of February... so, onto March!

March 2010 - This little hippie chic decided to get strep-throat. We went through 2 antibiotics; call the doctor on a Sunday to see Sophia ( So I didn't have to take her to the emergency room on a Sunday; I love our pediatrician!) All the while, Daddy was serving and protecting us out at sea.... I tried to have some fun with her outside of the house; so we went to the waterfront and had a picnic in the Tahoe. We missed Daddy and we tried to make the most of it. He missed us too and he wanted to be home with his sick little girl :( So, that takes us to April!!!

April - LOOK WHO IS HOME!!!! Daddy!!! This is the month where Daddy got out of the Navy, we traveled to Alabama so Daddy could talk to Mary's 4th grade class about his experiences in the Navy, We went to Mary's college Graduation and we also traveled to Baltimore for Mommy's work trip. MoNu went along for the ride. It was FUN for everyone! We have started a new chapter in our lives. This chapter consists of our family being together; which is the most important chapter for US :) We love Daddy and are so proud of his service to our Country. We will never forget or take that fact for granted. So many military servicemen and women are overlooked (out of sight - out of mind) So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers at all times.... So look out May because here we come!

May 2010 - We made it through April and two trips; KJ's swollen anal glands (poor baby) and Sophia's heat rash- On a littler note, this month was also special for Mommy and Daddy. We celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary TOGETHER!!!! Daddy was out to sea for our 1st Anniversary... so this was very special for us. Now, people are probably reading this thinking; well you knew this could happen, he was in the Navy. The answer to that is yes. It also makes me appreciate what I have and how blessed we are to have those special moments together. So, we try to focus on the positive aspects of life and not let the negative ones make us miserable :)June here we come!!

June 2010 - This was another eventful month for our little family... We went to Chicago for Nicole & Rob's wedding. We flew out of Chicago to Sunnyvale for Mommy's work trip. Keep in mind all 3 of us were on this road trip together!! MoNu met us in California for another adventure!! We went to a very special baby shower for Addison Rose Maushart; whom is the daughter of some very close friends of ours, Michael and Robin Maushart. Last but not least, we got text messages of wedding rings and a wedding proposal from Mary & Bradley while we were in California. Phew... very busy month for everyone! Here we come July!

July 2010 - Happy 4th of July everyone! We had company from Gamma Dempsey and Jay for the holiday weekend. We went to the beach. Once again, we tried to get back into a schedule after an eventful June. Mike and Sophia had some time to get to know each other over the summer. They spent some quality time playing and just being together. Pretty cool :) So look out August because here we come!

Family August 2010

August 2010 - was more fun with visits from MoNu, Kraig, Hollie and we were making Sunday's our PASTA day! We cooked for My-My & T-T; Aiden and Debbie; Mommy's co-workers and us :) It has been another great addition to our chapter of family. This was the month that Sophia started day school;Mommy also had to go to DC to teach a class for a week; Kraig & Hollie picked me up from the airport (on Daddy's first day of school) and we all met in Jacksonville to celebrate Mommy & Kraig's birthday!! MoNu stayed with Sophia - this was the first night Sophia spent away from both parents... it was also the longest week/weekend that Sophia and I had ever been apart....that was very tough... probably more tough on me than her but none the less - I was very happy to hold my daughter! That's right - HOLD HER! Every chance I get; that's what I do :) Phew... are we done yet? NOPE - September here we come!

Sophia's first 5k - September 2010

September 2010- WOW - Sophia ran... well, rode in her first 5k! The following weekend we went down to St. Augustine for Pink up the Pace 5k! We stayed the night in Jacksonville with Robin, Michael and Addie! I have forgotten to add all the Saturday 5k's we were doing throughout the year... yup! Mommy signed up for the Disney half-marathon in January 2011. But due to all the December travel and sicknesses/lack of funds... Mommy was not able to run the half-marathon... NOT a problem because there are more out there to run! Other events from September would include pool time at My-My and T-T's :) Sophia started potty training at school :) She loves her school and misses T-T every day :) Now look out October!!!

October 2010 - Here we are! Back in Bama!!! But this was after Sophia and Mommy were in Chicago for a work trip. We stayed with Nicole and Rob. We also had a nice visit with Gramma Bren! It was very cool how it all worked out! Nicole realized she had to eat before she got hungry... oh wait, I forgot to mention the most important thing - SHE'S PREGNANT!!!! :) It was a great couple of days in the city. We flew out of Chicago to Atlanta; there we were greated by Cy and she took us to Anniston for Mary & Bradley's weekend of bachelorette/bachelor parties... We drove home on Sunday... at this point in the year; our little family was really starting to get tired of traveling... :) BUT we continue on! November here we come!

Pa-Pa and Sophia Thanksgiving 2010

November 2010 - This was a great month! We had Thanksgiving with Nicole and Rob for the first time at our house! Pa-Pa, ToTo and Jim were also here celebrating with us! It was a small group this year but still very exciting! We also skpyed with all Sophia's aunts/uncles on Mommy's side for the annual name drawing for christmas presents! It was lovely :) Other than that, Mommy had another work trip; Sophia, Mommy, Daddy and KJ all got sick and pretty much stayed that way through November... we didn't run any 5k's and we just worked on getting healthy and gearing up for December!!!

December 2010 - We made it!! Sophia turned 2! She had 3 different parties!! We had one for her at our house and one in Anniston - so she could meet and play with her cousins! We had one at Chuck-e-Cheese in Decatur so she could meet some new friends there too! Sophia was also in her first play at school! She was an angel! The very next morning we left our house at 5:00 am and headed to Anniston for a 2 week visit with extended family. The first week consisted of Mary and Bradley's wedding; riding a horse at Michael and Allison's house; which we ended up having so much fun with them and Whitney, Dalton and Patrick that we stayed the night! That was so awesome!!! We went out and visited with Eric and Nanelle! We saw Me-Me; We visited with and spent time with Pops! We visited and spent time with Gamma Trish! We visited Erin's house and jumped on a trampoline! We went over to Granny and PawPaw's.... PHEW....Then we packed up and headed to Decatur!

We got there Christmas Eve....well more like Christmas morning :) We were greeted by MoNu, Grandpa Russ, Nannie, Kip and the girls, John and Liz, Kraig and Hollie... I think that was everyone...we went to MawMaw's church at 9:00 am on Christmas morning!!

After we work up to SNOW!!! We had a dirty santa with the Halbrook's and Sophia was able to meet and play with all her cousins there!!! WONDERFUL!!!

Melendez Christmas party was off the hook! What a wonderful family and beautiful home! We had such a good time visiting with everyone!

We also visited with MawMaw and PawPaw Horace on this trip! We celebrated Kenneth Haggard's birthday with him, Jana and Kenneth's brothers and 2 good friends of theirs! We went out to eat and bowling!

We had a family gathering at MoNu and Grandpa Russ's for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! Then we drove home the day after New Years...

WE ARE READY FOR A VACATION :)  ha ha! All kidding aside, we are getting back into the saddle for 2011! Here are our New Year's resolutions:
1.) Go to church every Sunday!
2.) Mommy shave your legs regularly :)
3.) Eat healthy and drink healthy during the week - weekends are free days :)
